CAVS Trivia

New CAVS Trivia packages will be released every month. Each monthly package will include 1,260 new questions across 7 categories, with versions available in 5 languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic.

As new monthly packages are released, they will automatically appear on your My Account → Downloads page, where you can select and download them according to your subscription plan.

On the CAVS USA website, go to My Account and log in. If you do not already have a verified account, create an account first. A verification email will be sent to your email address. Follow the instructions in the email to verify your account before making a purchase.

Next, go to the CAVS Trivia page, select the subscription plan that best fits your needs, and complete your purchase through the Checkout page.

After your purchase, you will receive an email with instructions for enabling CAVS Trivia on the license dongle of your karaoke player. Follow the instructions in the email to complete the dongle update.

Single plan includes 1 language, Multi plan includes up to 3 languages, and Enterprise plan includes all available languages.

Your selection may include any combination of available languages and monthly releases, including packages from the current month and previous months.

After purchasing a subscription plan, go to the My Account → Downloads page. You will see the available CAVS Trivia packages based on your subscription plan. Make your selection and click SAVE to confirm. Once your selection is saved, the corresponding DOWNLOAD button(s) will appear. Click each button to download your selected package.

Each downloaded ZIP file will have a name such as 2026_08_EN.zip, indicating the Year_Month_Language of the package.

Unzip the downloaded file. Inside, you will find a folder with the same naming format, such as 2026_08_EN. The folder contains the Trivia questions organized by category. For example:

Keep this folder structure unchanged when copying the package to your CAVS karaoke system.

• Navigate to the Karaoke Songs folder on your CAVS karaoke player:
  C:\Karaoke Songs\ or D:\Karaoke Songs\
• Create a subfolder named Trivia inside the Karaoke Songs folder:
  C:\Karaoke Songs\Trivia\ or D:\Karaoke Songs\Trivia\
• Copy the unzipped CAVS Trivia package folder(s), such as 2026_08_EN or 2026_08_ES, into the Trivia subfolder.
  The resulting folder structure should look like this:

  Multiple monthly and language packages can be placed together in the Trivia folder. Keep each package in its original folder and do not combine the category folders from different packages.

• After copying the package(s), start or restart the CAVS karaoke program. The program will then recognize the installed CAVS Trivia packages.

Enable Trivia in the CAVS Karaoke Player

• In the Control Panel, go to Tools → Setting → Control Panel Layout.
• Check Enable Trivia Factory and click OK.

Configure Trivia Controls and Settings

1. Using the Control Panel
   • Go to the Function Menu and click Trivia.
   • In the right-side panel, click Trivia Setting. The Trivia Setting Dialog will open.
   • Select the language(s) and category(s) you want to include during playback, then click OK to save your selections.
   • To restart the Trivia question sequence from the beginning, click Reset. Trivia is designed to play questions without repeats, including when multiple languages are selected, until all available questions in the downloaded packages have been played.
   • The Trivia questions selected in the Trivia Setting Dialog will appear in the List Browser. Click the Play button in the List Browser to start Trivia.
   • Trivia questions will continue playing until the next karaoke song starts.
   • Trivia is now set to play automatically between karaoke songs.
   • To return the Control Panel to normal karaoke operation, click Playlist in the Function Menu.
   • Important: If the Stop button in the Player is pressed at any time, the currently playing karaoke song will stop and automatic Trivia playback between songs will also be disabled.
     To resume automatic Trivia playback, go to the Function Menu → Trivia and click the Play button in the List Browser.


2. Using the Customer Interface (Phone or Tablet)
   • Log in to the Customer Interface with Host or Administrator privileges by appending \host or \admin to the Customer Interface URL.
     
     For example, if the Customer Interface URL is:
     192.168.0.100:5000
     
     Log in as Host using:
     192.168.0.100:5000\host
     
     or as Administrator using:
     192.168.0.100:5000\admin
   
   
   • The Customer Interface will display a Trivia menu. Click Trivia. When prompted, enter the Host or Administrator password. The factory-default password is cavs, then click Login.
   • After logging in, click Trivia again.
   • Click Setting to open the Trivia Setting Dialog.
   • Select the language(s) and category(s) you want to include during playback.
   • Click OK to save your selections and close the dialog.
   • To restart the Trivia question sequence from the beginning, click Reset. Trivia is designed to play questions without repeats, including when multiple languages are selected, until all available questions in the downloaded packages have been played.
   • Click the Play button to start Trivia. Trivia questions will continue playing until the next karaoke song begins.
   • Trivia is now set to play automatically between karaoke songs. Click Home, Title, Artist, Queue, or another menu to return to normal karaoke operation.
   • Important: If the Stop button is pressed at any time to stop a karaoke song, automatic Trivia playback between songs will also be disabled.
     To resume automatic Trivia playback, click Trivia in the Customer Interface and press the Play button again.
