Frequently Asked Questions
- In CAVS karaoke player, navigate to the folder C:\Karaoke Songs\ (or D:\Karaoke Songs\ depending on the karaoke player) and make a subfolder Trivia.
- Unzip the downloaded Trivia database file into a folder such as 2026_07_EN or 2026_08_ES.
- Copy the unzipped Trivia folder into C:\Karaoke Songs\Trivia\ (or D:\Karaoke Songs\Trivia depending on the memory setup in the karaoke player).
- The resulting folder structure will look as
C:\Karaoke Songs\Trivia
2026_07_EN
2026_08_EN
2026_07_ES
2026_08_ES - Multiple unzipped database can be placed together in the folder.
- Restart the karaoke program inside the CAVS karaoke player.
- Using Control Panel
- In the Control Panel, go to Tools > Setting.
- Next select Control Panel Layout in the menu and check Enable Trivia Factory.
- Click OK.
- Go to the Function Menu and click on Trivia.
- Next on the right side, click on Trivia Setting.
- Trivia Setting Dialog window will open.
- Select the language(s) and category(s) to include during playback.
- Click OK in the lower-right corner of the Trivia Setting Dialog window to save your selections and close the dialog.
- To restart the Trivia sequence from the beginning, click Reset in the lower-left corner of the Trivia Setting Dialog window. Use this option only if you want to restore the factory-default question sequence.
- The selected Trivia questions will show in the List Browser window. Press the Play button to start Trivia.
- Trivia questions will continue playing until the next karaoke song begins.
- Trivia is now set to play automatically in-between karaoke songs. Next to return the Control Panel layout for karaoke, click Playlist in the Function Menu.
- If a karaoke song is stopped manually by pressing the Stop button, the Trivia feature is automatically disabled and will no longer start between karaoke songs. To resume Trivia playback, go to the Function Menu and click on Trivia. Press the Play button in Trivia to re-start.
- Using Customer Interface (phone or tablet)
- After enabling the Trivia feature as described in Section 1, all Trivia settings and controls can be accessed from the Customer Interface. This allows the show host to conveniently manage Trivia from a phone or tablet connected to the Customer Interface.
- Log in to the Customer Interface with Host or Administrator privileges. This is done by appending \host or \admin to the Customer Interface URL. For example, if the Customer Interface URL is “192.168.0.100:5000”, login as host “192.168.0.100:5000\host” or administrator “192.168.0.100:5000\admin”.
- The Customer Interface will show menus with Trivia. Click on Trivia and you will be asked to put in the host or admin password. The factory default password is “cavs”. Input the password and press Login.
- Again click on Trivia.
- Next click on Setting and the Trivia Setting Dialog will open.<.li>
- Select the language(s) and category(s) to include during playback.
- Click OK in the lower-right corner of the Trivia Setting Dialog window to save your selections and close the dialog. To restart the Trivia sequence from the beginning, click Reset in the lower-left corner of the Trivia Setting Dialog window. Use this option only if you want to restore the factory-default question sequence.
- Play button to start Trivia. Trivia questions will continue playing until the next karaoke song begins.
